On Sunday, the Eagles beat the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship, and the Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC championship.


  • For the first time, both teams in the Super Bowl will have African-American starting quarterbacks.
  • Eagles center Jason Kelce and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be the first brothers to play against one other in the Super Bowl.
  • Rihanna is set to headline the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and country music star Chris Stapleton will also perform.


  • The Chiefs last played in the Super Bowl two years ago, when they lost 31-9 to the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 
  • The Eagles last played in the Super Bowl in 2018, beating Brady's New England Patriots 41-33 to win their first NFL championship since 1960.
