EV startup Rivian, delivery firm FedEx, and sports-betting company DraftKings announced layoffs on Wednesday.
Rivian said it was laying off 6% of its workforce, or about 840 employees, to conserve cash as it prepares for a potential price war in the EV industry.
- FedEx announced it was laying off more than 10% of its global management staff amid a shipping slowdown.
- The delivery firm did not provide details on the number of jobs being cut.
- In June, FedEx laid off 12,000 U.S. workers and closed 90 FedEx office locations in September.
- As of December, FedEx had more than 550,000 employees globally.
- Draft Kings announced it is cutting 140 jobs, or 3.5% of its workforce, as part of a reorganization.
