In an effort to reduce real estate costs, Google Cloud is implementing a new desk-sharing office model which will require employees and partners to share their desks.
The new changes will also make workers schedule their in-person work days to maximize desk space.
- These changes are known as Cloud Office Evolution (CLOE) and will affect Google Cloud employees in New York City, Kirkland, Washington, Seattle, San Francisco, and Sunnyvale, California.
- Google is reportedly planning to vacate several buildings in the aforementioned locations.
- Employees must alternate in-person work days with their desk mates to ensure enough office space.
- Said measures will go into effect starting next fiscal quarter.
