Apple's top cloud exec. to leave the company in April

 

According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple’s top cloud executive Michael Abbott is reportedly leaving the company in April. 

Abbot joins several other former Apple VPS who have recently departed the tech giant. 

  • For the past five years, Abbott has been serving as Apple’s VP of cloud engineering, overseeing the iCloud.com service, iCloud Mail, iCloud Data, and emergency iPhone features like the Find My app and emergency SOS.
  • Jeff Robin, one of Apple’s senior engineering leaders and the creator of iTunes, will replace Abbott. 
  • Peter Stern, former VP of Services at Apple, exited the company in January. 
  • Other former executives who have parted ways with Apple include those in charge of the company’s industrial design, online store, information systems, procurement, hardware, and software engineering divisions.
