C.A.R. responds to Governor's State of the State letter

The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R) issued a statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom's State of the State letter.

In the letter, the governor laid out what he plans to achieve in the next year.

C.A.R President and Bay Area Realtor Jennifer Branchini said the letter was disappointing and did not mention Californians' affordability and availability challenges.

  • She pointed to home-buying challenges as the primary reason residents and businesses leave the state.
  • Branchini urged the governor and state legislature to fund the California Dream for All fully implemented last year.
  • In the letter, Governor Newsom announced $1B in homelessness funding, the San Quentin prison restoration, $30 insulin through CalRX, and more.
