BP has extended its agreement with Aize, a digital twin software provider, to all five North Sea oil and gas assets.
Aize's
digital twin solution helps BP manage engineering and operational data
by providing users with a digital view of physical assets and
consolidating information from internal and external sources into a
user-friendly workspace.
- BP has
embraced the Aize digital twin solution in the North Sea region as its
"system of insight" and has used it to create and augment processes
supporting maintenance, inspection, modifications, and turnarounds.
- The visualization of assets, which a digital twin solution provides, empowers BP's teams to operate safely and efficiently.
- The collaboration between BP and Aize has helped Aize to develop its product and increase its knowledge base.
- The
North Sea remains an important region for BP, which claims to have "a
strong portfolio" focused on the ETAP and Andrew hubs in the central
North Sea and the Clair, Schiehallion, and Foinaven areas west of
Shetland.
- In addition to its
activities in the North Sea, BP recently kicked off oil production from
its fifth operating production platform in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
