AI startup LangChain is raising between $20M and $25M in fresh funding at a $200M valuation from Sequoia Capital, per Business Insider.
The firm's new fundraising comes just a week after it closed a $10M seed funding round led by Benchmark.
- The startup helps developers build complex AI applications by providing a large language model (LLM) application development library.
- LangChain combines LLM models such as OpenAI's GPT-4 with other computational models, breaking down the models into "chains" that can be connected together.
- Robust Intelligence's machine learning engineer Harrison Chase launched LangChain as an open-source project last October.
- Sequoia's partner and growth investor, Sonya Huang, headed the deal.
- Reportedly, Sequoia made a pre-emption investment, helping it avoid a formal fundraising.
