Tesla installed its 45,000th Supercharger station globally. The automaker also announced plans to construct a new Megafactory in the Lingang area of Shanghai.

Uber-owned Middle East ridesharing service Careem announced its plans to launch a spinout "super app" with a $400M investment from UAE telecom e& (formerly Etisalat). Uber acquired Careem in January 2020 for $3.1B

The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to propose new limits for vehicle tailpipe emissions this week, which would apply to light vehicle model years 2027 to 2032. Automakers have announced a collective $1.2T for vehicle electrification projects.

The Department of Transportation issued a $135,000 fine to British Airways for a tarmac delay in December 2017 due to not having sufficient deicing fluid supply in Austin. More recently, the airline removed ~300 flights from its schedule in April to ease congestion at London Heathrow. 

All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines purchased sustainable aviation fuel blends to be used on flights departing Tokyo Narita and Haneda airports. The IATA estimates $17B in forward purchase agreements of SAFs in 2022.

Ireland-based ASL Aviation Holdings, a flight contractor for FedEx and Amazon, announced the acquisition of Pionair to expand to Australia and other markets in Oceania. In December, FedEx revealed its plan to increase its reliance on third-party operators as part of $1B in cost-cutting measures.

Swedish electric boat company Candela is launching a new version of the hydrofoil C-8 with a range of 65 miles and a cruising speed of 25 mph. Candela raised $20M in March for the production of the P-12 vessel.
