The NCAA women's basketball Final Four will feature reigning national champions South Carolina, as well as Iowa, LSU, and first-timer Virginia Tech.

This is the third consecutive Final Four for the South Carolina Gamecocks, which are widely regarded as the best team in women's college basketball.

South Carolina has won 42 games in a row.

  • Iowa's sharpshooting guard Caitlin Clark had the first-ever 40-point triple-double in NCAA tournament history — for both men's and women's basketball — in Iowa's win over Louisville on Sunday night.
    • She had 41 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.
  • The LSU made it into the Final Four for a five-year run that ended in 2008 but has not played a semifinal since then.
  • Virginia Tech's Georgia Amoore and Elizabeth Kitley combined for 49 points in a win over Ohio State on Monday.
  • South Carolina will face Iowa, and LSU will face Virginia Tech on Friday night.

Zoom Out:

  • This is the first Final Four in 15 that will not feature U-Conn.
