Google has launched an accelerator open to North American startups building AI applications in the cloud.
The search giant piloted its first cloud accelerator in Canada in 2020 and has now decided to offer the program to the rest of North America.
- Google decided to expand the program to all of North America due to strong demand from cloud-native startups in the U.S.
- The new North America-wide accelerator will collaborate with eight to 12 tech startups that use cloud-native technologies, including AI and analytics, to power their services, products, or operations.
- Participating startups will receive technical project support, access to cloud mentorship, the possibility to receive up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits, and the opportunity to attend workshops on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development.
- The application period closes on May 30, and eligibility requirements state that startups must be from Seed to Series A and implement AI into their core technology. The program is slated to begin on July 11.
