Roku Channel broke into Nielsen's Top 10 monthly platform rankings for the first time. It's the third free ad-supported streaming platform to make the list, after Tubi and Pluto TV. Roku Channel was responsible for around 1.1% of all TV use for the month of May, according to Nielsen. - That ties Roku with NBCUniversal's Peacock among individual streaming platforms.
- Roku outperformed Paramount's Pluto TV, which had 0.9%; Fox's Tubi leads the free platforms with a 1.3% audience share.
- Streaming was the most popular way for Americans to access TV shows for the seventh straight month, with 36.4% of total viewing; that was up from 34% in April.
