The "Great Big Workplace Adjustments Survey 2023", conducted by the Business Disability Forum (BDF), revealed that disabled employees in the U.K. still face considerable challenges in securing workplace accommodations, with 78% needing to spearhead the adjustment process themselves and only 10% finding it easy to get needed adjustments. Additionally, the survey shed light on the deeper challenges disabled employees face, such as bullying, limited career development opportunities, and the broader inaccessibility of workplace infrastructure, suggesting a need for systemic change towards disability inclusion, including the simplification of workplace adjustment processes and universal design policies. |
