A top Apple analyst expects the company to release a foldable iPad as early as 2024. Ming-Chi Kuo said the new model will likely "boost shipments and improve the product mix" for iPads.

  • Kuo predicts the foldable iPad will have a carbon fiber kickstand made by Anjie Technology. He did not provide further details.
  • Meanwhile, Kuo has predicted a year-over-year drop in iPad shipments of 10% to 15% in 2023.
  • “There may be no new iPad releases” in the next nine to 12 months, he said.
  • Apple could start mass production of a refreshed iPad mini in early 2024, according to Kuo.

  • In October, CCS Insight reported that Apple would launch a foldable ‌‌iPad‌‌ in 2024 before bringing the technology to iPhones.
  • Almost a year ago, analyst Ross Young said Apple has been testing a foldable ‌‌iPad‌‌ with a 20-inch folding screen but did not plan to release it until 2026.
  • Lenovo and Samsung currently produce laptops and phones with fully foldable displays.
