- Alphabet was the latest to announce job cuts of 12,000 employees
or about 6% of its global workforce earlier this month. The company
"hired for a different economic reality than the one we face today," CEO
Sundar Pichai acknowledged.
- Overall, more than 100 companies, or about 20% of the S&P 500, will report earnings in the coming week.
- The results are expected to heavily influence the market. Positive results could help usher in a bull market shift as inflation decreases.
