Amazon leads on renewable energy

 

Amazon was the company that purchased the highest amount of renewable energy in 2022.  The company reached a renewable energy capacity of 20 gigawatts (GW). Amazon's renewable energy footprint included 133 new projects in 11 different countries. The company has purchased a significant amount of wind and solar infrastructure for the grids that power its data centers, fulfillment centers, and physical stores.  Amazon has been the leading renewable energy buyer since 2020. As a result, the company is expected to power 100% of its operations through renewable energy by 2025.
