Academics are looking for new ways to leverage VR technology to keep Holocaust survivors' experiences alive, capture young people's attention, and connect them to Holocaust history.  The initiative "Triumph of the Spirit" is a film seen through a VR headset that takes viewers to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp and Polish Jewry before the Holocaust. The project, developed in Jerusalem, is open to the public as a memorial museum where using VR headsets, viewers can immerse into history without traveling to the site. Filmmakers behind the project believe that technologies like VR can positively impact our society.  Individual users can watch the film at a mall in Jerusalem. The user gets a tour of life in Poland before the Holocaust, followed by a visit to the Nazi camp and then a tour of Israel while listening to survivors' stories.
