Apple has patched a zero-day flaw that was used to hack iPhones, iPads, and Macs. 

The bug is tracked as CVE-2023-23529.


  • If hackers were to exploit this flaw, it would let them execute arbitrary code on devices running older iOS, iPadOS, and macOS versions after opening a malicious web page that pops up.
  • This flaw affected devices such as:
    • iPhone 8 and later
    • iPad Pro (all models),
    • iPad Air 3rd generation and later,
    • iPad 5th generation and later,
    • iPad mini 5th generation and later
    • Devices using MacOS Ventura.
  • This marks the first zero-day flaw that Apple patched in 2023.
  • The company has not given technical details in order to help protect users' safety.
  • According to Apple, the flaw may have been used to breach users, although no cases have been reported yet.
