HORIZON WORKROOMS WAS USED IN A COLOMBIA COURT TO CONDUCT A TWO-HOUR SESSION IN THE METAVERSE.

The Administrative Court of Magdalena, Colombia, held a two-hour session in the metaverse, employing Horizon Workrooms, a Meta platform. The hearing was presided over by Judge María Victoria Quiñones Triana, and the parties appeared over VR using avatars.

Horizon Workrooms, used by the officials in Colombia, is powered by Horizon Worlds technology, a Meta platform that brings teams together in a virtual workspace, even if they are miles apart.

  • Some critics say that this court proceeding in the metaverse was groundbreaking for Web3, while others believe that having avatars present lowers "the gravity of the situation."
  • The hearing was live-streamed on YouTube

Last October, Interpol unveiled the first-ever fully operational Metaverse developed for law enforcement globally.
