Luxshare Precision Industry Co Ltd will help develop the iPhone maker's long-awaited Apple AR device

Luxshare Precision Industry Co Ltd will help develop the iPhone maker's long-awaited Apple AR device.

According to the report from Nikkei Asia, Luxshare is taking over the development team in Shanghai that Taiwan's Pegatron previously owned.

Pegatron, which helped Apple assemble the device, was the first contractor to help Apple develop AR devices.

  • Apple plans to launch its headset device at this spring's event, costing approximately $3,000, Bloomberg reported.
  • The headset will be a competitor to Meta Platforms' Quest Pro, unveiled in October 2022 at $1,500.
  • According to Nikkei, Apple hopes to lower the price for the headset's second generation.

Luxshare already supports building iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods.
