The care center at Stamford Health partnered with Oxford Medical Simulation to launch a metaverse training program that allows nurses to work with fictional virtual patients with simulated medical conditions.

Stamford Health is reportedly the first health center in Connecticut to use the Oxford Medical VR solution.

The training program allows nurses to assess patients and hone their skills in the metaverse hospital.

  • 11 nurses and approximately 90 medical residents participated in the launch.
  • The metaverse program is open to Stamford Health's GEMS groups, a 12-month program designed to orient new graduating nurses to transition into clinical nursing.
  • Oxford Medical Simulation is adding new features, including making the virtual rooms reflect Stamford Hospital.
