Japan's largest bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, has raised $100M to invest in Indonesian startups.

 The bank has invested $307.5B in startups in less than four years.


 

  • The fund will be officially called MUFG Innovation Partners Garuda No.1 Limited Investment Partnership.
  • MUFG will focus on companies compatible with Danamon, a commercial bank that it acquired in 2019.
  • The company has invested in startups such as Akulaku, Hojojo, Gaudiy, Nudge, etc.
  • Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is the largest bank in Japan by market cap, with a value of $94B.
