Nike loses top executive

 

Nike's Global Chief Digital Information Officer Ratnakar Lavu left the company on short notice on Monday.

 Nike has not provided further details about the reasons for his departure. 

  • Lavu left his role on Monday after submitting his resignation with immediate effect, reported Insider. 
  • He became Nike's first chief digital information officer after serving in the same role at department store company Kohl's.
  • Nike's digital business has more than doubled since the pandemic and has become a key component of the company's overall strategy, according to CEO John Donaho.
  • Nike's focus on digital forms part of its wider shift away from wholesale and toward direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels.
  • Direct revenue comprised 42% of Nike's total sales in fiscal 2022.
