Payments services giant Mastercard has signed a deal with Web3 payment protocol Immersve to allow users to pay with crypto using USD Coin (USDC).
After the payment, USDC tokens will be converted to a fiat currency, and transactions will be settled on Mastercard’s network in real time.
Payments with USDC can be made in the digital, physical, or metaverse worlds.
- Users can send crypto funds directly through their existing Web3 wallets, eliminating the need for a third-party platform.
- By collaborating with a third-party settlement provider, Immersve will enable USDC purchases for its customers.
Mastercard previously partnered with crypto exchange Binance to launch a prepaid card that can be used in acceptor stores in Brazil and Argentina.
- At the time, the company stated that it aimed to build a bridge between conventional finance and the crypto industry through its partnership with Binance.
