Singapore-based IT service provider Samooha has raised $12.5M in a funding tranche led by Altimeter Capital and Snowflake Ventures.

Samooha is currently working on a data collaboration solution that enables multiple users to share, analyze, and gain insight from each other’s data with support for datasets from external clouds.

  • Samooha’s solution incorporates the data clean rooms concept, which is defined as a technology service that provides aggregated and anonymized user information to protect user privacy. Organizations often rely on data clean rooms to share sensitive data across computing environments.
  • Samooha is built on Snowflake and therefore leverages the underlying trust boundary framework of native apps in Snowflake for a secure computation environment that eliminates the need for data migration.
  • The company offers a basic and premium tier for its clean room solution. The premium tier contains many more features, including multi-provider collaboration, managed accounts across providers and consumers, support for developer mode, and more.
  • CEO Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan says that the company will use its funds to advance product development and increase its headcount.
