Swedish audio streaming giant Spotify has started testing token-enabled playlists

Swedish audio streaming giant Spotify has started testing token-enabled playlists that allow NFT holders to access select NFT communities' curated playlists by connecting their wallets.

The test is limited to selected Android users in the U.S., U.K., New Zealand, Australia, and Germany.

  • The new service supports Fluf, Moonbirds, Kingship, and Overlord NFTs.
  • To try the feature, Spotify users can connect their Metamask, Trust Wallet, Rainbow, Ledger Live, or Zerion wallets to the app.
  • NFT holders use a unique link to unlock and access the playlists.
  • The three-month testing phase will see frequent updates to the curated playlists.
  • Spotify has yet to reveal any plan to expand the feature's availability in the future.
  • In May last year, the streaming giant also tested NFT integration by allowing select artists, including Steve Aoki and The Wombats, to display their NFT collections on their profiles.
  • The platform currently has over 489 million users worldwide.
