VMware released the State of Spring 2022 report that focuses on important trends and areas of potential improvement.  VMware surveyed 1,421 Spring professionals from various roles, regions, and job levels.    The number of respondents mainly using modern architectural styles increased by 5% from 50% in 2021 to 55% in 2022.  Project Loom and GraalVM ranked at the top among new technologies that respondents wanted to use. Kotlin dropped to the third position.  Respondents are learning about Spring from Spring.io, Stack Overflow, Baeldung, and reference documentation.  Major challenges with Spring are the steep learning curve, difficulty understanding what components do, and lack of information about using modules together.
