British Columbia's Ministry of Housing unveiled five performance targets allowing the general public to track the government's performance.
In December, BC Premier David Eby made the Ministry of Housing standalone.
The first target of the Ministry is to implement the new Housing Supply Act and establish municipal-level housing targets in consultation with municipalities.
- The Ministry plans to monitor the proportion of those experiencing homelessness who remain in housing programs managed by BC Housing for at least six months to improve housing stability.
- Another strategy is to track the delivery of its Supported Rent Supplement Program (SRSP) through various partners to understand its effectiveness.
- The Ministry will also track the proportion of Residential Tenancy Branch disputes heard with the branch's service stand timeframes.
