Bitcoin’s (BTC) market cap has surpassed the tech giant Meta, reaching $471.86B.

Meta currently stands at $469B in market cap.

The leading cryptocurrency’s market cap increased by 9.7% within 24 hours.

  • One day before, Bitcoin was almost $37B below Meta, with a $433.49B market cap.
  • Bitcoin currently sits in the 11th spot in the list of top assets by market cap, standing between Meta and electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla.
  • The rise in the market cap came amid a turbulent atmosphere in the crypto industry stemming from the three consecutive crypto-friendly bank collapses of Silvergate Bank, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), and Signature Bank.

In February, Bitcoin also beat payment services giant Visa in market cap for the third time in its history by reaching $470.16B.

  • The recent rise caused the gap between the two’s market caps to widen and surge to more than $20B.
