Cloud security startup Wiz raises $300M

 



    N.Y.-based cybersecurity startup Wiz has raised a $300M Series D funding round co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Greenoaks Capital Partners.

     This latest funding round brings the company's valuation to $10B, making it the world's most valuable venture-backed cybersecurity company. 

    Wiz was founded in 2020 by former Microsoft executives.

    • The startup specializes in cloud infrastructure security, offering a platform that enables organizations to identify security issues in their public cloud infrastructure. 
    • According to its website, Wiz can start running in minutes via API and scale to any cloud environment without impacting workload performance. 
    • Notable platform features include agentless scanning, a comprehensive analysis engine, graph visualization for an overview of technologies running in a cloud environment, and automation and developer tools. 
    • The company plans to use its fresh funds to provide protection for more complex cloud environments and meet the growing global demand for cloud cybersecurity.
