The NATO Innovation Fund appointed Dr. Klaus Hommels, founder and chairman of VC firm Lakestar, to head the board of directors of its venture arm.

Hommels is joined by Fiona Murray, associate dean of innovation and inclusion at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dr. Roberto Cingolani, former Italian minister.

  • Additional six board members are expected to join the board.
  • NATO announced that the fund would be headquartered in the Netherlands.
  • 22 NATO members out of 30 formed the fund in 2022. All the participating members will be limited partners in the fund.
