E-commerce giant Alibaba Group’s cloud-computing arm, Alibaba Cloud, has announced that it will launch a blockchain lab in Japan in April.
The lab will aim to help game developers identify further commercial aspects of the Web3 field.
The collaborators of the lab include Tokyu Real Estate Co., Ltd., the game and VR content studio Skeleton Crew Studio, and Japan’s largest indie game event BitSummit.
- Japanese game developers will be able to meet and learn about blockchain technology in Alibaba Cloud’s new blockchain lab.
- In its initial phase, the lab will be available only for a select group of customers and hackathon participants who developed joint projects with Alibaba Cloud.
- In the lab, the partner firms’ engineers will also give onsite technical assistance using their specialty in blockchain technology and Alibaba Cloud’s services.
In December last year, Alibaba Cloud also announced that it would offer a blockchain node service in Japan within Q1 2023.
- The service is expected to reduce the time spent on operation and maintenance for developers building and deploying new products on blockchain networks.
