Google Cloud and Proximus reach agreement

Google Cloud and Proximus have announced a partnership agreement.

The two companies will bring cloud services to Belgium and Luxembourg.

  • Under the agreement, sovereign cloud services will support disconnected operations through Google Distributed Cloud Hosted, which does not need to be connected to Google Cloud to manage infrastructure, services, APIs, or tooling.
  • Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg's Prime minister, stated that having sovereign cloud capabilities has been Luxembourg's plan for many years and will play a key role in having the country become a technology authority in the region.
  • This technology will be used to securely deploy sensitive information for:
    • Governments,
    • Regulated enterprises, and
    • International organizations.
