Google has announced the general availability (GA) of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Hosted, a portfolio
of fully managed hardware and software solutions that incorporates
Google Cloud infrastructure and services into the edge and data centers.
GDC Hosted enables Google Cloud customers to follow strict data requirements for classified, restricted, and top-secret data.
- Google
Cloud claims that GDC Hosted is air-gapped and can manage
infrastructure, services, APIs, and tooling without being connected to
Google Cloud or the public internet.
- GDC
Hosted is said to provide advanced Google Cloud services, including
built-in AI solutions from Google’s Vertex AI-managed ML platform and a
Database Service.
- According to a recent company blog post, GDC Hosted is built around Google Cloud’s open cloud strategy and leverages the Kubernetes API.
- The
software solutions suite purports to offer customers the flexibility
required to deploy a completely managed cloud in their own data centers
or on-premises facilities.
