Homegrown Greenko Group has raised $700M to invest in renewable energy projects.
The company has helped electrify nearly 7 million homes.
The equity funding will be used to invest in pumped storage projects which will have a storage capacity of more than 25 GWh.
- The company has installed 7.5GW in energy generation capacity across 15 states and has helped avoid 17 million tonnes of Co2 emissions.
- GIC led the funding round, with participation from Orix Corporation of Japan and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
- Based in India, the company claims its portfolio delivers 20+ billion units of renewable energy annually across the country, making up 1.5-2% of India’s total electricity consumption.
