AI software startup Inflection AI is reportedly in talks to raise as much as $675M in fundraising from undisclosed investors, sources told the Financial Times.
The fundraising would be three times larger than the $225M in equity financing that the startup secured last spring.
- The startup was co-founded
in 2022 by LinkedIn creator and billionaire Reid Hoffman, DeepMind
co-founder Mustafa Suleyman, and former DeepMind researcher Karén
Simonyan.
- The Silicon Valley-based startup has said it aims to
develop new technologies that could enable people to speak to computers
in plain language.
- Suleyman, who is Inflection's CEO, told FT
that "Ultimately, if we decide to raise, we will raise the right amount
of capital to achieve our company goals."
- While the company has yet to release any services or products, its website describes it as an "AI-first company" that is "redefining human-computer interaction."
- Last year, it was reported
that Inflection was working to enable AI systems to understand natural
language commands from humans, which can amplify productivity and
creativity.
- Hoffman has said he sees Inflection as a "co-pilot" but not a replacement for human professionals.
