Macro is a production company that writes and produces movies and TV shows that focus on telling stories that represent minorities. Some of the movies the company has created are: Fences, Sorry to Bother You, Just Mercy, Raising Dion, etc. The company has been nominated for an Oscar 15 times. BlackRock Alternatives led the funding round, with participation from Emerson Collective, AMC Networks, Essence Ventures, and MNM Creative. The company also has two VC investment arms: M Ventures and MaC Venture Capital. Macro was founded in 2015 and is based in Los Angeles.
