Netflix is undergoing a re-organization of its film division.
Two long-time film executives -- Lisa Nishimura and Ian Bricke -- departed the company this week.
- All Netflix live-action film content will now be overseen by the trio of Kira Goldberg, Ori Marmur, and Niija Kuykendall.
- Nishimura spearheaded a number of notable unscripted projects for Netflix, including the breakout hits "Making a Murderer" and "Tiger King."
- Bricke
brought a number of arthouse and independent filmmakers to the
platform, developing projects with Tamara Jenkins, Nicole Holofcener,
and the Duplass Brothers, while also collaborating on the smash-hit YA
franchise "The Kissing Booth."
- According to Deadline, the
reorganization is mostly about streamlining operations, and will not
significantly impact the kinds of films Netflix produces.
