"Starfleet Academy" on Paramount+

 

Paramount+ formally ordered a long-rumored teen-focused "Star Trek" series, "Starfleet Academy."   The series will follow the adventures of a new class of cadets attending the school, where future Starfleet officers are trained. "Trek" franchise mastermind Alex Kurtzman will executive produce the series with "Nancy Drew" and "The Magicians" vet Noga Landau. Also this week, Paramount renewed two "Trek" series -- "Strange New Worlds" and "Lower Decks" -- for additional seasons. The "Trek" spinoff series "Picard" is currently in the midst of its final season; "Discovery" will return next year for a fifth and final run.
