New York-based venture capital firm Gutter Capital closed its debut fund at $25M, higher than the initial target of $15M.
The firm will invest in SaaS and marketplace startups working on affordability, economic mobility, and climate change in the pre-seed to seed stages.
Dan Teran and James Gettinger founded Gutter Capital.
- Teran previously founded Managed by Q, which WeWork acquired for $220M in 2019.
- Gutter Capital's debut fund counts institutional investors Tiger Global Management, Bain Capital Ventures, FJ Labs, and Kapor Center Investments as limited partners.
- The firm's average ticket size will be $1.5M.
- The firm has already invested in 13 startups, including food management startup Forerunner, small home developer Den, carbon emissions platform The Climate Choice, and labor union organizing platform Unit.
