Google partners with Replit

Google has entered into a partnership with IDE developer Replit in a bid to compete with Microsoft's GitHub Copilot. Through the partnership, Replit's 20 million developers will receive access to Google's Cloud infrastructure services and foundational models via Ghostwriter, while Google Cloud and Workspace developers will get access to Replit's collaborative code editing platform.

Apple released the first beta of iOS andiPadOS 16.5, along with macOS Ventura 13.4, tvOS 16.5, and watchOS 9.5 for developers. Apple recommended building and testing with Xcode 14.3 to take advantage of the advancements in the latest SDKs.

According to Gregory Orosz, GitHub let go of its entire developer team (approximately 100 members) based in India. A GitHub spokesperson told TechCrunch that the move is part of the reorganization plan the company unveiled last month to protect the health of its business and invest in its long-term strategy.

Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) has identified that Android, iOS, and Chrome 0-day and n-days vulnerabilities were used to install spyware on target devices. According to the blog post, attackers took advantage of the time gap between the fix release and when it was fully deployed on end-user devices.

Swift announced Swift Packaging Index, a destination for searching and discovering packages, is now sponsored by Apple. Since launching Swift Package Index in 2020, Swift has merged over 1,200 pull requests and deployed over 600 releases.

Dylibso released the beta of Modsurfer, a system of record for all WebAssembly modules with diagnostic applications to track, investigate, search, and validate them. Dylibso announced raising a $6.6M seed round led by Felicis with participation from boldstart ventures, Pebblebed, and Crew Capital.
