Stockholm-based startup Klimato has raised a $4.5M funding round led by Global Cleantech Capital.  Klimato offers a cloud-based platform with tools for food service providers to calculate, report, and reduce their carbon footprint.   Klimato’s platform is used by food service providers, food producers, and restaurants and offers user-friendly tools to help calculate the carbon impact of food based on ingredients, production methods, and country of origin. The platform provides access to menu templates and climate labels, which state the carbon footprint of each dish to encourage restaurant patrons to choose meals with a lower climate impact.  A reporting function is also included in the platform, enabling users to set goals, and report and track their climate impact over time.     The company will use its latest funds to expand its international presence.
