Washington-based software execution system startup Temporal Technologies has raised a $75M Series B round led by Greenoaks.
The company’s durable execution system enables users to build and operate resilient and reliable cloud applications.
- The company provides an open-source method for writing and running cloud applications, which makes them more reliable and easier to develop.
- Typically, changes to cloud applications disappear if a service fails or shuts down; Temporal aims to fix this problem by providing durable execution for cloud services and applications.
- Temporal’s solution works by connecting a cloud application with the Temporal server, which manages its execution. Once the desired workflow tasks are scheduled, the server automatically adds those changes/events to the workflow history.
- The durable execution system eliminates the need for developers to assemble complex infrastructure such as databases, queues, and schedulers, which is time-consuming and unreliable.
