The Israeli Foreign Ministry uses AI and metaverse to communicate its messages to audiences worldwide in their native languages.
The ministry has posted videos on Twitter featuring a digital avatar of Ambassador David Saranga speaking in Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Persian, Greek, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish.
The AI technology is a generative video program developed by Tel Aviv-based D-ID that can generate human-like avatars speaking multiple languages.
- The ministry maintains social media accounts in over 50 languages, reaching around 2 billion impressions annually.
- In 2022, the Israeli Embassy in South Korea opened a diplomatic mission in the metaverse, which it claimed was the first of its kind.
- D-ID abides by ethical regulations set up by the Partnership on AI and the Content Authenticity Initiative to prevent the spread of misinformation.
- D-ID's products are already used in the metaverse, primarily for educational purposes.
