Walmart has laid off over 600 employees in its e-commerce fulfillment operations.

The move signals a downsizing in Walmart's fulfillment network, which was previously seeing rapid growth.

  • Walmart's Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notices show that over 600 employees have been laid off.
  • The company confirmed that it has "adjusted staffing levels" at some of its fulfillment centers.
  • A Florida WARN notice revealed that Walmart will lay off 400 workers at its facility in Davenport, Florida.
  • Retail Dive previously reported that 201 workers were laid off at Walmart's cutting-edge Pedricktown facility.
  • Walmart said in February that it would shut down its e-commerce-only stores due partly to the expansion of its curbside pickup network.
