Miami Dade College (MDC) has launched Metaversity, a digital twin campus designed to enhance learning and academic support for students through a 3D model of the College's physical grounds.
MDC partnered with VictoryXR to
create Metaversity, which will complement MDC's physical facilities and
provide immersive and interactive experiences for students, faculty,
and visitors.
- Metaversity
will allow students to join classes, attend events, take campus tours,
and interact with peers and instructors in the metaverse.
- MDC
aims to offer VR-enhanced courses and academic labs in the metaverse as
early as Fall 2023, helping students to improve their skills.
- Metaversity
will boost engagement, increase collaboration, and innovate in teaching
and learning, making MDC's offerings more accessible to students.
- MDC President said the project would prepare graduates to thrive in a digital world where technology evolves by the minute.
- The digital twin project
offers students, faculty, and staff a unique opportunity to explore and
create immersive virtual environments, fostering innovation and
transformative learning outcomes.
