Apple is developing an AI-powered health coaching service, per a Bloomberg report.

The tool, which may or may not be released to consumers, would analyze data from a user's Apple Watch to offer personalized coaching programs for eating, exercise, and sleep.

  • The AI coach, codenamed "Quartz," is expected to have a monthly fee.
  • Several Apple units, including its AI, health, and Siri teams, are said to be working on the AI service, which is due out in 2024.
  • According to Bloomberg, the project could still be "canceled or postponed."
  • In addition to the AI health service, Apple plans to add tools to its health app for managing vision conditions and tracking emotions.
  • The latter would eventually rely on algorithms to better gauge and understand a user's mood based on different data.
  • The plans are separate from Apple's forthcoming iPhone journaling app, which will let users log their thoughts and activities throughout the day. That app would track and analyze those behaviors to suggest topics to write about and more.
