David's Bridal considers liquidation

 

David's Bridal plans to liquidate its assets if it cannot find a buyer for its business.  The wedding attire retailer still seeks to sell itself as a going concern after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday. CEO James Marcum said in the filing that the company would begin an "orderly liquidation" of its assets if a buyer cannot be found. David's Bridal has hired liquidation and restructuring firm Gordon Brothers Retail Partners to establish procedures for shutting down its business. The company operates 294 locations in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., plus eight franchised stores in Mexico. Marcum partially attributed the bankruptcy to costs related to the company's store fleet.
