Denny's Corp. is organizing a series of summits starting in April that focuses on improving mental health and wellness for companies and individuals.
The summits are free, and attendees can participate in person or virtually.
Denny's CEO, Kelli Valade, says the summits will help bring together employees, educators, researchers, and experts to learn about mental health resources.
- The first summit will be held on April 22nd at the HPAC Theater at the University of South Carolina-Upstate.
- Dr. Daniel Dawes, a health law, policy, and management professor, will be the keynote speaker at the first summit.
- He will discuss mental health equity and the path forward.
- Journalist Roland Martin will moderate two panels addressing how food is connected to wellness and mental health.
- A second mental health summit will be held on Oct. 10th at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn.
The post-pandemic period has increased loneliness and mental illness, and the summits aim to address one of the most critical public health issues.
