Honeywell
International Inc. released a report based on a survey of 2,500 office
workers across Germany, India, the Middle East, the U.K., and the U.S.
on their workplace expectations and concerns regarding indoor air quality (IAQ).
93% of the respondents said they have higher expectations for IAQ in their workplace now than they did three years ago.
- 43%
of the respondents feel highly concerned about their workplace’s IAQ,
with India reporting the most concern (64%) and the U.K. the least
(24%).
- 97% of those surveyed said they would take some action
if their employer didn’t put measures in place to improve the indoor
environment, with 21% saying they would look for another job if their
employer failed to maintain a healthy indoor environment.
- Two-thirds of the workers surveyed (67%) feel their employer or facility manager must monitor the building’s carbon emissions.
- 26%
of the respondents said they would give up part of their salary or
bonus if it meant those funds would be used to reduce the environmental
impact of their building.
- The report highlights the growing importance of IAQ and environmental sustainability in the workplace.
- Employers and facility managers may need to improve IAQ and reduce their carbon footprint to attract and retain talent.
