Apple is expected to open its first official retail store in India in the coming weeks.
The store will be located inside the Jio World Drive Mall in the business district of Mumbai, India's financial capital.
- On Wednesday, Apple shared a photo of the retail store, called the Apple BKC creative, though it did not share an opening date.
- The
company says the store's design was inspired by Mumbai's unique Kaali
Peeli (black and yellow) taxi art, with "colorful interpretations of the
decals combined with many Apple products and services that will be
available for our customers to discover."
- To celebrate the store, Apple released special decorative wallpapers for iPhones, iPads, and Macs, along with a special Apple Music playlist.
- Apple
opened its online store in India in 2020. Plans to launch the first
retail outlet in the country were postponed because of the pandemic.
- The company is expected to open a second India store in New Delhi in the near future.
